Late last year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica minivan its highest honor: the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. Because of a headlamp performance upgrade in the fall, the Top Safety Pick+ designation specifically applies to 2021 Pacifica models manufactured after September 2021.
To earn this title, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica had to earn the IIHS’s top rating (“good”) across six crashworthiness tests. Those tests included small overlap front (driver side), small overlap front (passenger side), moderate overlap front, side impact, roof strength, and head restraints and seats.
Automatic Emergency Braking
In addition, the Chrysler Pacifica’s standard Automatic Emergency Braking system earned the highest rating (“superior”) for such an upgrade. Finally, its headlamps, as well as the upgrade to Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking, sealed the deal for this family-friendly minivan.
“Winning the highest IIHS safety rating of TSP+ distinguishes the Chrysler Pacifica’s superior safety technology and performance,” said Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell. “Pacifica is the perfect choice for modern families who are looking for a minivan with the greatest combination of safety, functionality and value.”
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica minivan is the only minivan in North America to offer second-row Stow ‘n Go seating, as well as a plug-in hybrid alternative and available all-wheel drive. You can test-drive and purchase one now at Lustine Chrysler Dodge Jeep® Ram in Woodbridge, Virginia.
